Plaza Dilao Statue of Takayama

This areaa has a small Japanese population in 1593 which grew to 1500 - 3000 in 1603. In 1606 - 1607 , they led a rebellion against the Spanish. The Japanese population grew further when Japanese refugees under Takayama Ukon fled here to escape the interdiction of Christianity in 1615.

San Miguel de Manila

The church was founded in 1603. It was damaged during the 1645 earthquake and the Seven Years' War British Occupation. Several Philippines attended the Mass in this church and President Ferdinand had his wedding here.

University of Santo Tomas Main Building
